Central Region Names New Vice President of Medical Affairs

Jeff Finkelstein, MD, FACEP, has been named Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Central Region, effective Dec. 1. Dr. Finkelstein returns to the Central Region from Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, where he served as Medical Director of Urgent Care, leading Harford HealthCare GoHealth Urgent Care Centers across the state.

Dr. Finkelstein has a successful history with The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) and Hartford HealthCare (HHC). Previously, he was Chief of the Emergency Medicine Department at HOCC from 2003 to 2015, while taking on additional leadership roles. From September 2010 to April 2013, he was the Chief Medical Information Officer at HOCC, and from April 2013 to January 2016, he was Chief of the Emergency Medicine Department at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Finkelstein’s skills, leadership and expertise are impressive. He has a proven track record of attracting, recruiting and retaining the best physicians and advanced practitioners. He is also committed to exceptional patient experience and quality care, highlighted by a history of top-decile results in both emergency and urgent care. Dr. Finkelstein is also a subject matter expert and super-user in Epic software applications and continues to coach, teach and mentor Epic users across the system in many different specialties.
