We’re glad you’ve chosen The Hospital of Central Connecticut for your medical needs, and we are prepared to offer you and your loved ones top quality care. Here are a few things to know in preparation for your visit.

 

Before You Arrive

Once you and your surgical provider have decided to schedule surgery, you will be contacted by the Outreach Specialist who will help guide you through the preadmission phase of care and make sure that any necessary testing and appointments are completed prior to your scheduled surgery date.

Prior to your appointment, you will be contacted via telephone by a Registered Nurse to complete a Pre-Screening Questionnaire.

Your preadmission visit will include

  • Review of your current medications, including prescriptions, over the counter supplements and herbal remedies
  • Completion of a Preoperative History and Physical by a board certified nurse practitioner
  • Completion of Preoperative testing; laboratory studies, EKG, etc., as requested by your surgical provider
  • Education to Enhance your Recovery After Surgery
  • Coordination of Specialist Consultations, as deemed necessary by the nurse practitioner or your surgical provider
