Digital X-ray

Among the most common radiological procedures, X-rays can be very effective in showing fractures and other bone problems, pneumonia, foreign objects in the body and other conditions. X-rays can also be used to check progress during treatment and healing.

Fluoroscopy is a moving X-ray image projected onto a monitor. It allows doctors to perform minimally invasive procedures like angioplasty and stenting; uterine fibroid embolization and other procedures. Doctors insert a thin catheter into the body and, using fluoroscopy, guide it to the treatment area.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut's new bariatric fluoroscopy room at the New Britain General campus allow doctors to easily check and adjust gastric bands.
