The Hospital of Central Connecticut recognized with Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award

The American Heart Association has certified The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) with a Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.HOCC AHA Mission: Lifeline Gold Plus Quality Achievement 2016


HOCC is the only hospital in the state participating in this program to receive this recognition. To qualify for the award, hospitals must follow strict protocols around patient care that includes adherence to specific quality standards and time to therapy. The hospital is being recognized for having an 85 percent composite adherence and at least 24 consecutive months of 75 percent or higher compliance on all Mission: Lifeline STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infraction) Receiving Center quality measures to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients.

“This award is a great accomplishment for HOCC and we are very proud of this achievement,” said Laura Labrecque, RN, director of cardiovascular services in the Central Region. “This recognition is well-deserved due to our incredible staff and providers and the fantastic program that we have in place. The program has been very successful and it shows all of the hard work put in at HOCC to care for our STEMI patients.”
