Teen Volunteer Opportunities

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is proud of its exceptional Teen Volunteer Program.

High school students between the ages of 15-18 provide invaluable assistance to many hospital departments.

Volunteering is an excellent way to learn about the exciting world of healthcare and may encourage you to explore healthcare as a future career.

Teen Volunteer Program

Our 2017 Summer Teen Volunteer Program begins on Monday June 19, and ends on Saturday August 26.

Note: The summer program is filled and closed for the summer. Thank you.

In order to apply for the Teen Volunteer Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a high school student between the ages of 15 – 18.
  2. Do not apply if you plan to be away this summer for more than 2 weeks.
  3. You must commit to a minimum of 40 hours. If you have a Community Service Form from your school, it will not be signed until 40 hours have been completed.
  4. Review the 2017 Teen Volunteer Opportunities.
  5. Complete the Teen Volunteer Application Form and the Self-Interview Questionnaire.
  6. Your parent or guardian must read and sign the Parental Agreement which must be attached to your application and self-interview. Please send all three (3) forms to:

  7. Applications must be received by no later than Friday April 14. Applications will not be accepted after that date.
  8. You must also provide the Teacher Reference Request Form to your teacher or guidance counselor.
  9. Your application packet will be reviewed along with your Teacher/Counselor reference. If you meet the general requirements, you will be contacted for an interview with the Manager of Volunteer Services. Please note that a maximum of 50 students will be selected for the summer program.
  10. Following the interview, if you are accepted into the Summer Teen Volunteer Program, you will be given a Health Clearance Form for your doctor to complete along with information about mandatory PPD (TB Testing). You will also be required to attend the mandatory Hospital Safety Orientation.

Students who fail to comply with any of the requirements will not be accepted.
