Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an increasingly well-known third-wave cognitive behavior therapy that emphasizes the utilization of mindfulness and values-based interventions to promote behavioral change. In this workshop we will discuss the foundations and research evidence for ACT in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, as well as the application of ACT processes and skills. As a result of participant in this live activity, participants should be able to:
1. Understand and describe the core processes of ACT
2. Conceptualize patient presenting problems from an ACT perspective.
3. Utilize ACT interventions to promote behavior change.
4. Incorporate ACT techniques into your current clinical work. This will be a day-long instructional in-person workshop on acceptance and commitment therapy for mood and anxiety disorders by Travis Sain, Ph.D.

Psychologists: The Anxiety Disorders Center/Center for CBT (ADC/CCBT) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. 6 CE credits will be awarded for this activity. ADC/CCBT maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Social Workers: This organization, The Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital and ACE Approval Number1204 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program.
