Hospital’s StrongWomen-Healthy Hearts Program begins June 9 in Southington

The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) Department of Cardiology’s StrongWomen-Healthy Hearts program will be held June 9 to Sept. 3 at its Bradley Memorial campus, 81 Meriden Ave., Southington. This program is designed to help women make positive changes to eat healthier, move more, and improve general health and well-being.

Program sessions, to be held 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in Conference Room A, will focus on nutrition and exercise and be led by an exercise specialist and a registered nurse. Program cost is $80.

StrongWomen-Healthy Hearts is a research-based exercise and nutrition program designed by researchers at Tufts University with the goal of helping women improve their heart health. To register, please call 1.800.321.6244.

As part of its emphasis on cardiology care for women, HOCC also has a Women's Heart Wellness Center where patients are seen by a board-certified cardiologist and receive a gender-specific risk factor screening to address cardiac risk factors specific to women, symptom assessment and a physical exam.
