Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program at Bradley Memorial campus recertified

February 04, 2015

The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s All HeartSM Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at its Bradley Memorial campus in Southington has earned three-year recertification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

AACVPR-certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. HOCC’s program was recognized for its commitment to improving patients’ quality of life by enhancing standards of care.

The application process toward certification requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR program certification is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other professional societies.

HOCC’s cardiac rehabilitation program includes closely supervised exercise, ongoing education, risk factor modification, and counseling for people with heart disease, including angina or heart failure, and those who have had a heart attack, heart surgery or angioplasty.

HOCC’s All Heart Cardiac Rehabilitation has held AACVPR accreditation since 1999 and was one of the first programs in the state to become accredited. All Heart Cardiac Rehabilitation, also available at HOCC’s New Britain General campus, was the first cardiac rehabilitation program in Connecticut. For information, please call 860.276.5344.
