Hospital’s free Be Heart Smart education series starts March 7

The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s Division of Cardiology is presenting a series of free educational events for the community.

Be Heart Smart, an education series, will be held 3 to 4 p.m. on Fridays March 7 through April 11 at the hospital’s New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St., in Lecture Room 1; April 11 event is in Lecture Room 2.

Topics and dates are Heart Healthy Diet, March 7; Diabetes and Heart Disease, March 14; Speak Up for Your Health Care, March 21; Atrial Fibrillation, March 28; Women & Heart Disease, April 4; and Be Heart Smart What You Need to Know, April 11.

Presenters include cardiologists, advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurse and registered dietitian.

At each event free blood pressure screenings will be available; refreshments will also be provided. Validated parking will be available in Quigley garage, next to hospital’s main entrance. Registration is advised; please call 1-800-321-6244.
