Hospital has several volunteer opportunities
January 21, 2015
You can make a New Year’s Resolution that will make a difference in someone’s life as well as your own. If you have a few hours a week to spare, The Hospital of Central Connecticut offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities:
- The Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Hospital of Central Connecticut located on the Plainville/New Britain town line, is nearing completion and volunteers are needed at the reception desk to meet and greet patients and family members and to provide clerical support for varied services moving to this new building in March. Volunteers are also needed to assist customers in the new gift shop at the Cancer Institute.
- The Cardiology Department is undergoing renovation at its New Britain General campus and more volunteers are needed in the reception area to assist patients as they arrive for their appointments.
- The hospital also welcomes more volunteers to serve as ambassador volunteers and provide escort and way finding services as well as wheelchair assistance; visit patients with the hospital’s BookCart; and assist customers in gift shops at both the New Britain General campus and Bradley Memorial campus in Southington.
If you enjoy public contact and would like to volunteer, please call Volunteer Services at 860.224.5231; or, you can complete an on-line application at hospcentralct.vsyshost.com.
