Hospital and Arthritis Foundation offer arthritis exercise program in Southington

(New Britain, Conn.) – The Hospital of Central Connecticut and the Arthritis Foundation are co-sponsoring an eight-week arthritis exercise program to begin Sept. 15 at HOCC’s Bradley Memorial campus, Southington.
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program will be held 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Nov. 5 in Conference Room A at the campus, 81 Meriden Ave. An HOCC exercise physiologist will lead the low-impact physical activity program aimed at reducing pain and decreasing stiffness.
The exercises, which can be done standing or sitting, are designed to be relaxing, help keep joints flexible and muscles strong. Routines include gentle range-of-motion exercises suitable for every fitness level.
Program cost is $20. To register, please call 1-800-321-6244. Free parking is available at the hospital; handicapped parking is also available in lots closest to the hospital entrance.
