Free Prostate Cancer Screening at New Britain General Hospital
New Britain [September 08 2005] -
New Britain General Hospital will be holding its annual free prostate cancer screening on Monday, Sept. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. This screening session is being held for this one night only.
The prostate cancer screenings are performed by board-certified urologists, and include a PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test and a DRE (digital rectal exam).
Prostate cancer screenings are recommended for all men over the age of 50. African-American men and those men with a family history of prostate cancer should begin screenings at age 45.
