Hospital's Healthy Moms fitness program begins Aug. 16

In August, The Hospital of Central Connecticut's Ferdinand Sauer, M.D. Family BirthPlace will start a new eight-week fitness program, Healthy Moms, for women who are pregnant and those who are at least six weeks and up to nine months post-partum.
Healthy Moms will meet in Lecture Room 1, New Britain General campus on Fridays starting Aug. 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for pregnant women; and from 11 a.m. to noon for moms who want to come alone or bring their baby.
The class uses a fitness ball, resistance bands and multiple exercises appropriate during pregnancy or post-delivery to help women stay fit. A registered nurse certified in pre/post-natal fitness will lead the class. At every class each participant will receive a water bottle; exercise materials provided. Program cost is $70.
