Hospital of Central Connecticut employees recognized for service

New Britain [May 14 2013] - The Hospital of Central Connecticut recently honored employees marking service milestones and presented a New Britain resident with a customer service award.

At its annual Employee Recognition Awards event May 2 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, the hospital recognized nearly 400 employees from the New Britain General and Bradley Memorial campuses for achieving service milestones in the preceding year.

Several employees received special honors, including New Britain resident James Nohilly, construction coordinator with the Facilities Department, who received the President’s Award for Excellence in Customer Service. The award, the hospital’s highest customer service honor, recognizes an outstanding employee who embodies exemplary customer service, an ongoing commitment to customers, innovation and creativity in resolving customer issues and continuous improvement in customer service.

Nohilly was nominated by Deb Ford, director, Facility Project Development, whose nomination letter cited his work on numerous projects during his 40-year hospital career. Ford praised Nohilly’s attention to detail, “vast” experience and ability to work with staff, contractors and others.

“He serves this hospital with pride, commitment and effort that make him one of the most valuable resources we have,” Ford wrote. “He epitomizes our core values of integrity, caring, excellence and safety. Our team is honored to work with Jim every day.”

Also recognized at the event was Plainville resident Clifford Sargis, administrator, Department of Medicine, who received the Medical Staff Recognition Award for his knowledge, dedication and positive attitude and many contributions to the department.

Employees achieving service milestones were honored at the gala, including Elaine Steinbruck, Patient Billing, who completed 50 years of service. Bessie Darden, Endoscopy; George Dawiczyk, Radiology; and Susan Sartinski, Special Care Nursery, were honored for 45 years of service. In addition eight employees were recognized for 40 years of service; 20 employees for 35 years of service; and 23 employees for 30 years of service. Many more employees were honored for 25, 20, 15, 10 and five years of service.
