Hospital’s Be Heart Smart patient education series starts Jan. 11

The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s Division of Cardiology is presenting a series of free educational events for heart patients and family members.
Be Heart Smart, a patient education series, will be held 3 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays on Jan. 11, Jan. 25, Feb. 8 and Feb. 22 at the hospital’s New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St., in Dining Room B.
Topics and dates are Be Heart Smart: What You Need to Know, Jan. 11; Importance of Exercise and a Low-Salt Diet, Jan. 25; Medicines and Care after the Hospital, Feb. 8; Advanced Care Planning and Treatment, Feb. 22.
Presenters include advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurse, social worker, pharmacist, cardiologist, clinical exercise physiologist, and registered dietitian.
At each event free blood pressure screenings will be available; refreshments will also be provided. Validated parking will be available in Quigley garage, next to hospital’s main entrance. Registration is advised; please call 860-224-5694.
