Prostate Cancer & Staying Healthy: Free Talk

Prostate cancer and staying healthy will be the topic of a talk on Wednesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the New Britain General Hospital cafeteria.
Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, from the University of Michigan Medical Center, will talk about “Promoting Wellness for the Prostate Cancer Patient.” Dr. Moyad is the Director of Preventive and Alternative Medicine within the University’s Department of Urology and has spent his career researching, teaching, and writing on this subject. Dr. Moyad is a naturopathic physician who has developed a unique and fundamental framework for disease prevention that recognizes the importance of evidence-based, objective investigations of both alternative and traditional treatments.
Dr. Moyad is the primary author of many articles and is the editor-in-chief of the soon to be released medical journal, Seminars in Preventive and Alternative Medicine, by Elsevier. He is an editor or regular reviewer for numerous medical journals including British Journal of Urology, Cancer, European Urology, International Journal of Cancer, Lancet, Journal of Urology, Nutrition and Cancer, Urology and others. He is also the editor of the Humana Medical Book Series on Preventive & Alternative Medicine.
Note that this talk takes the place of the prostate cancer support group’s regular meeting that would normally be held at the Hospital on April 12.
