“Lunch and Learn” Series on Healthy Aging
New Britain [April 17 2006] -
Medication compliance will be the subject of a lunchtime presentation on April 27 at New Britain General Hospital, conducted by the Connecticut Center for Healthy Aging. This will be the first in the Center’s “Lunch and Learn” series of presentations on topics of interest to seniors.
“Medication Non-Compliance: America’s Other Drug Problem” will be presented by Thomas Buckley, RPh, MPh, a clinical educator for Pfizer Inc. at the first session on April 27. Buckley will discuss the importance of taking medications properly and in correct dosages. There will also be a discussion of cardiovascular medications.
Two other sessions are scheduled: “Healthy Aging: What’s Normal and What’s Not” on May 30, and “Growing Old is Not for Sissies” on June 23.
The lunch and learn series will take place in Lecture Room 2 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided. Parking will be validated.
The Center has offices at both New Britain General and Bradley Memorial Hospitals and provides assessment, free education, resources, and referrals to seniors and their families.
