Auxiliary Donates Funds for Emergency Department Expansion
New Britain [November 05 2008] -
At its Nov. 1 Chrysanthemum Ball, The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s New Britain General campus Auxiliary presented a check for $100,000 for the hospital’s Emergency Department expansion and renovation.
The $100,000 will be matched by a grant from the American Savings Foundation.
Auxiliary President Barbara Kirejczyk surprised ball attendees by announcing that the Auxiliary voted to donate an additional $100,000 to help the hospital reach its goal for the Emergency Department project. With this additional donation, the hospital will eclipse its goal of raising $1 million for the expansion and renovation.
The project increased beds at the New Britain General campus Emergency Department to 46, added new cardiac monitoring and computer equipment, a new nurse station and other improvements.
About 450 people attended the ball, held at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
