Hospital makes medical staff appointments

New Britain [October 01 2008] - The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s board of directors has approved the following medical staff appointments:

Hematology/Oncology
John Delmonte Jr., M.D., a hematologist/oncologist, has joined the hospital’s medical staff. He earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed a residency in internal medicine, Duke University Medical Center; and a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology, University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. Delmonte is also director of Cancer Research at the hospital’s George Bray Cancer Center. He is in practice at The Cancer Center of Central Connecticut, 40 Hart St., New Britain, (860) 224-4408; and 55 Meriden Ave., Southington, (860) 621-9316.

Medicine
Neeraj K. Kalra, M.D., a hospitalist, has joined the hospital’s medical staff. He earned his medical degree at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, St. Martin. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, Detroit. He is in practice at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Thomas M. Nguyen, M.D., a hospitalist, has joined the hospital’s medical staff. He earned his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Stamford Hospital. He is in practice at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.


Orthopedics
Richard Scarlett, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon, has joined the hospital’s medical staff. He earned his medical degree at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia. He completed an internship as well as residencies in general surgery and orthopedics at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; and a fellowship in sports medicine at New England Baptist Hospital, Boston. Scarlett is in practice at Grove Hill Medical Center, 73 Cedar St., New Britain, (860) 832-4666.

Pediatrics
Noelle Leong, M.D., a pediatrician, has joined the hospital’s medical staff. She earned her medical degree at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Leong is in practice at The Hospital of Central Connecticut Pediatric Clinic, (860) 224-5261.
