West Hartford Residents Donate Quilt to Hospital’s Joslin Diabetes Center
New Britain [July 21 2008] -
West Hartford residents Lynn Smith and Michael Kraczkowsky recently donated a quilt to the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Created by two Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation volunteers, the quilt will hang in the Joslin waiting room for patients’ enjoyment.
The quilt was auctioned off in May at the JDRF’s 2008 Promise Ball, which raised more than $1.1 million for diabetes research.
Accepting the quilt were Sebastian Vassallo, practice manager, and Karen McAvoy, diabetes education coordinator, Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate.
