Hospital to conduct vascular screenings on Mondays, starting Feb. 11
New Britain [February 05 2008] -
The Hospital of Central Connecticut Vascular Center will conduct vascular screenings from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, starting Feb. 11, by appointment only, at the New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St.
The $50 screening fee, not covered by health insurance, covers abdominal aorta and carotid artery ultrasounds; an ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) screening; registered nurse consultation; and a hard-copy report sent to the primary care physician. An R.N. and a registered sonographer will conduct the tests.
To schedule a screening, call the Vascular Center at (860) 224-5193, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Blockages or bulges in blood vessels can be deadly, but vascular conditions don’t always have symptoms. These painless, non-invasive tests can check for abdominal aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular and carotid artery diseases.
