Hospital welcomes general surgeon to its medical staff

The Hospital of Central Connecticut welcomes a general surgeon to its medical staff.
Jennifer McCallister, M.D., of Manchester, has been named an assistant attending physician with the Department of Surgery and will be conducting surgeries at both the Bradley Memorial and New Britain General campuses. She is in practice at 209 Main St., Southington, (860) 621-3183.
A general surgeon, McCallister performs surgeries for many conditions, including thyroid and breast disease, colon cancer, hernia, and diseased gallbladder. Many procedures she conducts, including gallbladder removal and hernia repair, can be done using minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy.
McCallister earned her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va., and completed a five-year surgical residency at University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she was also a chief surgical resident.
