Hospital of Central Connecticut Makes Medical Staff Appointments

New Britain [September 25 2007] - The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s board of directors has approved the following medical staff appointments:

Medicine
Thomas A. Brown, M.D., of West Hartford, has been named an assistant attending physician with the Department of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va., and completed a residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Dartmouth Medical School, Lebanon, N.H. He is in practice as a hospitalist at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Yi Sun, M.D., of Waterbury, has been named an assistant attending physician with the Department of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Zhejiang Medical University, China, and completed a residency at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing, China; Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport; and at St. Agnes HealthCare, Baltimore, Md. She is in practice as a hospitalist at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Pediatrics
Amanda E. Lefkowitz, M.D., of West Hartford, has been named an assistant attending physician in the Department of Pediatrics. A pediatrician, she earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and completed a residency at Schneider Children’s Hospital, New Hyde Park, N.Y. Tamika T. Brierly, M.D., of West Hartford, has been named an assistant attending physician in the Department of Pediatrics. A pediatrician, she earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed a residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is in practice at New Britain Pediatric Group, 1095 West Main St., New Britain, (860) 225-6064.

Emergency Medicine
Paul E. Russo, M.D., of Middletown, has been named an associate attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and completed a residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He is in practice at The Hospital of Central Connecticut Emergency Department.
