Hospital to host Sept. 23 open house for new Center for Joint Care
New Britain [September 14 2007] -
The Hospital of Central Connecticut will host a Sunday, Sept. 23 open house for its new Center for Joint Care at the New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St.
The 1 to 3:30 p.m. event will begin with a brief speaking program at 1:15 p.m., followed by tours of the center, located on the hospital’s second floor.
The newly renovated Center for Joint Care features 12 private rooms for patients recovering from hip, knee or shoulder joint replacement and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation unit. It’s part of the hospital’s Joint and Spine Center and complements the adjacent 18-bed general orthopedic and spine services unit.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet staff, view joint replacement parts, see an ongoing video discussing joint replacement and osteoarthritis, and receive free back massages. Refreshments and giveaways, including T-shirts will be provided; parking will be validated.
The Hospital of Central Connecticut offers a full range of joint replacement procedures for the hip, knee and shoulder. This includes preoperative classes for joint replacement patients, inpatient and outpatient physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation and home health care.
