Hospital Auxiliary Raises $60,000 at Annual Charity Golf Tournament
New Britain [June 30 2006] -
The New Britain General Hospital Auxiliary raised $60,000 at its Annual Golf Tournament in June to benefit programs at New Britain General Hospital.
Proceeds from the tournament, held at Tunxis Plantation Country Club in Farmington, will be used to purchase a Cardiology Teaching Module to aid for the training of medical students and residents in the cardiology department.
Since the Auxiliary was founded in 1899, it has been a major supporter and funding source for the Hospital. The Auxiliary has pledged $1 million toward the capital campaign, specifically for the refurbishment of the cardiac catheterization suite. Proceeds from the past two golf tournaments have resulted in the purchase of a Philips cardiac cath stand-alone workstation and a hemodynamic monitor.
