Diabetes, Exercise & Cholesterol - free lecture
New Britain [January 05 2007] -
The Joslin Diabetes Center at The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s New Britain campus will present its free monthly community lecture on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007.
James Pugliese, BS, CHFI, an exercise physiologist with the Joslin Center, will speak on the subject of “Diabetes, Exercise, and Controlling Your Cholesterol.”
There are now 20.8 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes. It is estimated that between 5 and 10 percent have type 1 diabetes, while 90 to 95 percent have type 2 diabetes.
Please join us to learn more about cholesterol, what it is, and why it is a significant health problem. The benefits of exercise and strategies for exercise will also be discussed.
