Local man raises $3,680 for NBGH cancer center
New Britain [September 22 2006] -
Frank Bedrosian of New Britain recently donated $3,680 to the George Bray Cancer Center at New Britain General Hospital that he raised through a pig roast.
More than 300 people attended the Sept. 16 pig roast at the New Britain VFW Hall. Bedrosian organized the event in honor of three of his loved ones touched by cancer.
Area residents and business donated raffle prizes for the pig roast, including gift certificates from the Stonewall Restaurant and LaRosa’s, Maciag Motorcycle, Amato’s, the Hartford Wolfpack and the New Britain Rock Cats, among others. Art DaSalvo and Sandy Cody assisted Bedrosian with the event.
New Britain General’s George Bray Cancer Center provides comprehensive, advanced cancer care through its infusion (chemo) therapy unit, inpatient oncology unit and the American Savings Foundation Radiation Oncology Treatment Center.
