Neurosurgeon opens two local offices, Joins medical staff at New Britain General & Bradley Memorial Hospitals

Ahmed M. Khan, M.D., a neurosurgeon, has opened a medical practice, Central Connecticut Neurosurgery and Spine, with offices in New Britain and Southington. Dr. Khan’s specialty includes all aspects of intercranial and complex spine surgery. He joined the staff at New Britain General and Bradley Memorial Hospitals in June.
Prior to bringing his practice to this area, Dr. Khan was an assistant professor in the department of surgery, division of neurosurgery, at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. In addition to UConn., he has held teaching positions at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, and Brown University.
A magna cum laude graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Khan received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his general surgery internship there, and his residency in neurological surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Khan has participated in a number of research studies in his area of expertise, and has authored publications for the medical journals Neurosurgery, and Rhode Island Medicine and Health. He has also presented abstracts at numerous medical conferences and symposia, including the 1997 International Congress of Neurological Surgery in Amsterdam and, in the same year, the International Symposium of Micro-and Radio-Neurosurgery, in Kusatsu, Japan.
Dr. Khan is currently accepting patients at his offices at 40 Hart St, Bldg. D. in New Britain, 860-225-1227, and at 360 North Main Street in Southington, 860-620-0486.
Dr. Khan is a resident of West Hartford, Connecticut.
