Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) with the Wound Care Center visit area skilled nursing facilities each week, eliminating the need for patients to visit the hospital for wound care.
The APRN assess skin and wound issues, including nutrition, hydration, pressure relief and other factors; treats wounds; and educates facility staff and patients and their family members on how to care for each patient's wounds.
