We offer several non-surgical programs in addition to bariatric surgery. Opportunities are available to transition between programs as appropriate. Since weight management is a lifelong process, we have ongoing support on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis to help you keep your weight off.
Take Off
Take Off is a medically monitored, very low-calorie diet program using grocery food and/or liquid meal replacements. It promotes rapid weight loss and includes behavior modification, nutrition education, physical activity and psychosocial support. Many medical problems (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol) may be significantly improved with the expected weight loss.
Thomas Lane, MD, is the program's lead physician. He has many years of experience with very low-calorie diets and pharmacologic therapies for obesity. He not only monitors your progress, but works with your primary care physician to adjust your medications and therapies as required by the changes your weight loss brings.
Before enrollment you will be expected to participate in an initial assessment with a registered nurse. Once medically cleared, you will meet weekly with medical clinic staff to monitor your progress. You will also attend CORE, a 12-week program taught by a registered dietitian and an exercise physiologist. Additional medical testing (e.g., EKG and blood work) may be necessary throughout treatment.
CORE
CORE is a 12-week weight management program taught by registered dietitians and exercise physiologists. Classes cover nutrition and exercise education and examine the psychological/behavioral barriers to weight management.
Participants are weighed weekly and asked to keep food and activity logs. Homework assignments help you practice the "hands-on" skills necessary to lose weight and keep it off.
On Track
On Track is an education/support group that meets twice a month for those who have completed other Weigh Your Options
SM programs and want to continue to losing weight or keep weight off. The one-hour class is taught by our team and provides weight monitoring, education and support.
Nutrition counseling
Also called Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), counseling is available for those who prefer an individualized approach. We'll review your medical, diet and weight-loss histories and provide you with diet instruction as we monitor your weight and compliance to lifestyle changes.
Individual nutrition counseling is also available to help treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, food intolerances and other medical conditions.
