The bariatric (weight-loss) surgery program, part of the Center for Metabolic Health at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, can help individuals with severe obesity lose weight they have been unable to lose using other methods. Bariatric surgery is an option for people whose health and quality of life are being affected by severe obesity.
We offer a variety of bariatric surgery procedures
, including gastric banding (our surgeons use the Lap-Band®
™ Adjustable Gastric Band); single-incision gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery.
Center of Excellence
The Hospital of Central Connecticut has been designated a Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).The designation follows a rigorous program review of the hospital's bariatric surgery program by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
