Revenue Cycle Application Analyst

Position Duties:
  "As a Revenue Cycle Application Analyst you will support the McKesson STAR Patient Accounting and Patient Processing applications and their respective customers. The Revenue Cycle Application Analyst will work with client departments, IS managers and staff to support a full suite of STAR applications, other legacy applications, and technological solutions to meet the goals of the organization. The Revenue Cycle Application Analyst will identify and analyze user requirements and recommend appropriate applications and/or modifications. This calls for developing an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the application set, working with the user community to define their needs, and designing and delivering application solutions to meet those needs and improve the operational and financial positions of The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

The Revenue Cycle Application Analyst will have a key role in Change Analysis, Incident Analysis, and Problem Analysis; reporting to the respective Boards and Committees."
Educational Requirements:
  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or a Clinical area is preferred. Associates Degree or at least four (4) years relevant experience in a challenging healthcare IT department required.
Minimum Requirements:
  "Four (4) or more years IS applications or healthcare operations experience with a minimum of 3 years IS experience required.
Experience in patient accounting, registration and patient management modules is required.
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) are required."
Preferred Qualifications:
  "A successful candidate will display the following capabilities/skills:

• Project management training and experience, exposure to instructional design principles, principles of adult education.
• Knowledge of Cerner Charge Services and Patient Registration a plus. Experience with ePremis preferred.
• Candidate should possess high level computer skills, proficiency in application design and maintenance including familiarity with all components of the MS Office suite (including Access).
• Knowledge of customer departments clinical and/or business operations.
• Experience writing functional specifications and creating business process documentation.
• Leadership capabilities and must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, administrative capabilities with proactive skills in team building, problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to work independently on complex problems with the ability to develop system solutions for operational problems.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of multiple systems and their integration and business needs and processes.
• Works well with users to define system requirements and resolve problems.
• Understands and rigidly follows the HCC Project Management Methodology and Change Control Process, with the ability to analyze or anticipate the impact proposed change may have on system performance or end user experience.
• Ability to analyze problem situations or incidents and determine root cause and appropriate solutions.
• Ability to appropriately handle stressful situations, critical deadlines, and a customer base with both high service level expectations and technical sophistication.
• Availability to work nights and weekends during (un)planned outages and other special circumstances, with 24/7 accountability.
• Availability to respond to severe incident escalation by on-call manager."
