Mental illness is a serious medical disease affecting an estimated one out of four people 18 and older, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health Research works with leading pharmaceutical companies to learn how current and new medications work to treat mental illness like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

For all studies, medication is free and patients receive trial-related medical care at no cost. In addition, patients are compensated with gift certificates for their time and effort.

See details about our current trials.

Our mission

To participate in efforts to improve the quality of life for individuals coping with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and other mental health conditions through clinical research trials.
