Founded in 1975, CMHA is a not-for-profit behavioral health organization providing a range of comprehensive outpatient programs and services for children, adolescents, teens, adults and the elderly in Central Connecticut.
Goal
To develop and maintain an accessible mental health and addiction delivery system that meets the essential needs of people consistent with their goals for change and recovery.
Services
- Children's services:
- Outpatient programs include the Child Guidance Clinic in New Britain; Southington Outpatient Clinic; and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Program for Adolescent Girls.
- Intensive treatment services include extended-day treatment programs in New Britain and Waterbury for children with serious behavioral problems, and Family Connections programs in New Britain and Waterbury for children and their families.
- Supervised visitation between children and their parents/caregivers when requested by the state Department of Children and Families
- Adult services
- Clinical services include an outpatient clinic, Latino/Latina Substance Abuse Program and Jail Diversion Programs.
- Residential and transitional programs
- Case management, and housing programs for clients living in shelters
- Vocational and rehabilitation programs
- Addiction services, including an outpatient clinic
